Women Fitness Competition

Women fitness competition is a class of physique-exhibition events for women.

While bearing a close resemblance to female bodybuilding, its emphasis is on muscle definition, not size.The journey to physique competition is probably the toughest you’ll ever endure, but it’s also one of the most rewarding.Fitness and Figure are two distinct forms of competition, not just one. In a Fitness contest (the older of the two disciplines), female competitors showcase their physiques (which are noticeably less massive than bodybuilders’) while performing a demanding, time-limited, aerobic/dance routine.

Women’s fitness competition did not start until the 1980s. In previous years it was uncommon for women to compete in muscle building competition. Beauty pageants were the main way for women to compete.The first women’s Figure competition was the NPC (the major sanctioning body for would-be professional bodybuilders and organized amateur bodybuilding) Figure Nationals held in 2001 at Borough of Manhattan Community College’s Performing Arts Center, in New York City’s Tribeca section.It was a qualifier and precursor to the 2003 IFBB Figure Olympia, held in Las Vegas, Nevada.The Fitness Universe organization launched their own Figure division in 2005.Women fitness competition Always research what is expected, even if you’ve been doing contests for a while. The standards have been moving in the direction of muscular and lean women, although lower than the standards expected for bodybuilding competitions. The important areas to focus on are legs, shoulders, lats and glutes. Don’t ignore other areas, because it’s important to be balanced.

Being able to prove that you’ve got the mental and physical ability to get in contest shape and stand on stage that day is enough to give you the self-confidence boost to go after any and all of your lifelong dreams, not to mention, you get in great shape!

To acheive your goal of wining women fitness competition you have to be in the most time-effective manner possible, you have to step outside your comfort zone—you need to feel it and sweat it out! When you are weight training—which everyone needs to be doing—by the time you hit that last repetition, whether it is 8, 10 or 15 reps, you need to feel the burn. You need to feel like you could not possibly do another repetition. Same rule with cardio interval training. Whether you are exercising to lose weight or improve your fitness, exercise at an intensity that makes you sweat and breathe hard—even if just for a couple of minutes—then slow it down with some active recovery and do it again.
